Better Staffing Plans Are Now An Option
New Enhanced Employee Management System From Crown Computing includes SAP Interface Certification
Managers and supervisors can boost overall efficiency through improved staffing information and planning with the enhancements in the new Open Options 5 employee management system from Crown Computing. The enhancements, designed to compliment Crown’s soon to be launched workforce management product, include improved staff time sheet recording that adds accuracy by automatically reconciling time booked and attended.
There is also increased flexibility for company’s that need to monitor services that are billed at different rates and new features that take the admin out of holiday and absence management. The employee management software Open Options 5 has now also received interface certification through SAP’s Software Partner program.
Open Options, used by businesses including ITN, Dyson and Scottish Power, allows access to up-to-the-minute information on the status of employees that can be used to drive tasks and increase efficiency within modules including Time and Accounting, Payroll and HR integration, Activity Management, Access Control and Rostering. Version 5 has several enhancements that allow managers and supervisors to have an even greater level of information on staffing levels, absence and resource plans.
These include:
- A major upgrade of the Activity Management module, providing cost accounting and fee billing support for organisations that wish to charge or cross-charge for external professional services.
- Fixed Price Contract Management, WIP (Work in Progress), Accounting and improved user reporting facilities.
- A new Timesheet Entry process which enables daily or weekly timesheets to be entered by individual employees using either Windows or a Web browser. This facility automatically reconciles booked time with attended time, eliminating any loss in revenue due to inaccurate or missing time recording.
- Further improvements to Crown's Personal Option, the Web browser component of Open Options which provides a wider range of employee self-service functions. These include new features for holiday and absence management and for the individual maintenance of additional personal data, eliminating paperwork and unnecessary administration.
- Major enhancements to the data import/export layer which means the product is now compatible with the generic interfaces of all major ERP, Project Planning and Financial Accounting Systems such as SAP and MS Project.
Several functional changes have also been made to Open Options' core Time and Attendance module, improvements which have resulted from Crown's close involvement and field experience with its larger customers. The most significant changes include enhanced disciplinary management, return to work interviews, enhanced personnel record keeping and improved absence analyses.
