Crown Computing Limited Recognised As One of The Fastest Growing Companies In The UK Technology Industry
The case for the UK technology industry has been championed in the Midlands with the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 50 Programme. The programme is part of a national campaign designed to recognise, reward and raise the profile of the fastest growing technology companies in six regions across the UK including London and the South East, Eastern region, Scotland, The North and the South West.
Currently, UK technology companies account for just over five per cent of the VAT registered businesses in the UK. However, the UK technology sector is experiencing a rise - growing, on average, at over 25 per cent per annum since 1996, well above the UK economy's current national growth rate.
"We're a nation of innovators and inventors - right from the Industrial Revolution through to the present day - but sometimes we just don't shout about it enough," says Mike Hawkesford, Managing Director at Crown. Now is the time to champion the cause of the UK technology industry which, contrary to the doom and gloom written about the UK economy, it is in fact growing and growing - faster than the rest of the economy. "We are pleased that Crown Computing was named as one of the fastest growing technology companies in the Midlands, in today's growing global economy, it is quite an achievement".
The technology Fast 50 Awards Ceremony was held on 23 February at the Chesford Grange Hotel. The ceremony provided a chance for the most successful technology companies in the Midlands to stand up and gain recognition for their financial success and contribution to the local economy.
